About playing Sam:
"It was the life that I had out of the public eye which helped inform Sam. I tried my best to live my adolescence behind closed doors as far as I possibly could. And I think I managed to do that – I went back to school in between filming, I sat my GCSEs, I sat my A-Levels, I went to university. So it’s really those experiences that helped me. It made me very aware that my life has been unusual. I’d almost say that my life has been done backwards. There are certain parts which are happening at different times, and at different orders. And at times that’s felt lonely, but generally I just feel privileged to have so much, and so many different experiences."
About Perks:
“This film felt like an accelerated adolescence for me because in a seven-week span I got to experience everything I missed growing up. We filmed in Pittsburgh, and when I first arrived I thought it was going to be awful. I was like, 'Oh my God, we’re here for seven weeks? There’s nothing here.’ But we stayed at a hotel where all our rooms were connected down one hallway, so Ezra [co-star Ezra Miller] and I opened the doors in between our rooms and we turned the ground floor of the hotel into something like a hippy commune. By the end of the movie I was deliriously exhausted because we’d just stay up all night playing guitar and running around the hotel and generally causing carnage. I don’t know how we got away with as much as we did. A lot of barriers come down when you’re living together.”
About her favourite scene to watch back:
"The scene that I loved reading when I read the script was the scene where Sam wants to give Charlie the perfect first kiss. Because her first kiss kind of sucked. And a lot of people’s first kisses aren’t always great – it’s not always how you pictured things. And I just thought that it was so beautiful that she wanted to make sure that it was perfect, and that really touched me. So I was proud of that scene in general."
About music:
"Well, one of the first things Stephen did when we met me was give me a mix-tape that he’d made with a lot of 80s music like the Smiths as the film is set in the 80s. And then throughout the movie Ezra (Miller, who plays Patrick), Logan and I made this little band. We even had a name – Octopus Jam! I sing, Ezra sings and plays the drums, and Logan plays the piano. He’s a classical composer, he actually composed a piece of music for his part in Perks. So he was more classical, and then Ezra was more rock’n’roll. And then I was somewhere in the middle, just sort of doing my own thing really."
About being more confident now:
“I was working on Harry Potter while I was growing up, and the attention it brought me made me feel quite isolated. It’s only recently that I’ve felt much better in my own skin and known my own worth a lot more than I used to.”
About 50 Shades of Grey:
"I don't know how many times I have to reiterate, I literally don't know how many times I have to say it. I must have said it in 20 interviews now. I'm NOT attached to it, I don't know why this keeps coming up over and over again. It's flattering in the sense that people are excited about what I'm going to do in the future, but I just don't know where this thing has come from at all, I can't seem to shake it. I haven't read the book, I haven't been sent a script, I haven't been approached. I don't know what to say, that's it. I mean also, I've been saying since I was 16, if it's an interesting character, if it's important to character development, if it's the right role, then of course, if that's important to the story then I'll do [sex scenes] because I'm an actress, and that's it really."
About the new book of JK Rowling, The Casual Vancancy:
“I’ll need to go to a bookshop. I’d like to read it – I haven’t yet, I'm sure it will be amazing. I don’t think I have one being sent to me. It is an exciting time for both of us, nerve-wracking but exciting”

Great interviews! This film is going to give her career the necessary spin off into other avenues of roles and maybe herself creating her own tale.
Hopefully she won't do 50 shades of grey... No character development, not a strong character and it brings back women 60 years.
