The very emotional speech of Emma Watson during ELLE's 19th Annual Women In Hollywood Celebration party

Sorry, I had to remove the video, just received this:

I am the publicist who handled ELLE Magazine’s Women in Hollywood event. I urgently need the video you posted of Emma Watson’s acceptance speech taken down. WorldMonitor TV did not have the rights to the footage – and they have taken the footage down from their own site. The video was not supposed to be distributed. It is WireImage footage – not WorldMonitor TV footage. They do not have permission to use – nor does anyone else.

For what is this Award? Does someone know? I know Mary Kate Olsen got this once because she made herself a Name in the Filmbuisness with I don't know how many Movies, but it's not the Case at Emma, so I'm curious

my admiration for emma watson grows everytime i see her videos.ABSOLUTE GEM

So close, and yet still so far from learning the identity/occupation of that woman who is always in the pictures.... I don't think "consigliere" usually shows up on a resume!

CutiePie32 said...

It's her agent,isnt it?

I got choked up watching this! She's such a lovable person, so humble and such an inspiration. Thank you for posting!

Can someone tell me the joke she was saying? I didn't get it. And what was it about trying to protect her modesty? I didn't get that as well.
She is so lovely!

I would've added two things.First and foremost. It would've been nice to thank JK. Because iwithout JK she wouldn't have got that far :). Secondly, if she said thanks for her fans who are always there. Fans play a part in it for a celeb being BIG in the world. Other then that it was a good speech :).

Emma deserves this award so much. She is one of the classiest actresses out there. She is a great role model for young girls. She's truly one of a kind.

I love how she so sincerely thanks the lady who is always seen with her. I found that really moving; the acknowledgement that she has been so important to Emma on a personal level as well as a professional one. It was from the heart and it shows that Emma has values that matter - to me anyway.

Emma is really growing to be one of the classiest ladies I've ever seen. I think as her career goes on she will be on the same level as actresses such as Kate Winslet. I think she will have a lot of respect from everyone.

lala said...

@anon
i'm not really sure either what the joke was, but to me it seemed a kinda pathetic attempt to a joke, which she realised as well the moment she said it, and that made it funny.
the modesty thing was about her pa who put double sided tape all over her body to protect her modesty, with which she means the tape they use to make sure her dress won't move up or reveal a nipple or things like that. Hope it's more clear for you now
BTW i absolutely loved this speech, she showed such a vulnerable side of herself, which in my opinion is a very brave thing to do in front of an audience

Anonymous said...

Her speech was a tad overdone; It's a magazine/fashion award, not an Oscar or a real award, relax Emma.

I think she was talking about her life after Harry Potter. She mentioned there "the last three years". And bout her not mentioning her fans, I don't why she didn't but as her fan, it's alright with me. It never even occurred to me.

sparkvark111 said...

CutiePie32,

Emma's agent is Esther Chang, as she stated. The person she calls her "consigliere" is her assistant that travels with her on all the film shoots and events. The double-sided was not really a joke, but just to emphasize what lengths that her "consigliere" would go to help and be there for her. :)

Tia said...

The joke was "Hood" meaning HollyWOOD. THe double sided tape and modesty was because the tape sticks to her clothing and skin and not exposing her breasts. The hollywood joke was cute and funny. What made it funnier was the fact that she thought it was lame after she said it.

Anyway, she's lovely. :)

she appreciates people so much..which unfortunately is rare these days

somebody plz give a link that plays this video other than on youtube server? it doesnt open in my country..plz !!!!

Anonymous said...

To those you mentioned JK, Emma was talking about her life post potter, that's why the award meant so much and she got so emotional. Lots of people and the media have been saying that the potter gangs careers would die straight after and I'd imagine Emma has been under huge pressure and has been nervous about whether or not people and the industry would still support her. To get the Elle award was a very big deal in that it was a big vote of confidence from the them. You only need to look at who else is receiving awards and how much they appreciated it and who turned up as just guests to see that this awards show is a big big deal to actresses.

love u emma.stay humble

Anonymous said...

some emma watson fans are just plain crazy, you get upset because she didn't thank her fans or JK really?
and also I don't think she meant the word "consigliere" literally

some other link than you tube pleaseee !

This is a pretty big award in Hollywood. No, it's not an Oscar, BAFTA, GG, SAG or Emmy, but it's been going on for nearly 20 years. It's an award show celebrating the few women each year that have made a big impact. Women who are considered good role models for younger girls. Women who have long careers ahead of them.

Because of that, I think Emma simply got flustered. After the first sentence, she began crying. You can see how emotional she got. There are so many celebs out there that win Oscars that forget to thank their spouses, friends, family, agents, mothers, fathers, God, etc... Emma probably had a limited time to make a speech. Besides, she thanks her fans so much on her twitter, facebook page and in her interviews. You can see she's very grateful for everything she has. I'm not mad.

Anonymous said...

@coslopus - i don't think she has thanked her fans on twitter. well not this year so far anyway. And when was the last time she thanked fans. She only mentioned the 5 fans who queued up all night there. Even then Grimmers had to mention it first. A sentence of acknoledgment to her fans would be cool. But in all honesty she doesn't need to anyway. But it would be so cool if she did :)

Anonymous said...

She didn't get voted for the award by fans, she got it from Elle. She can thank the fans some other time.

This young woman does have a very healthy perspective about herself. I am glad that she considers Chbosky to be her friend. She calls him her mentor and taught her a lot. HP was her childhood, and I am sure that she is ver grateful for the advances, but she has grown from that perspective and that is good. She often said that she admires Rowling, but she doesn't need to be forever groveling.

Thank goodness I'm in the habit of using Freemake Video Converter to save Emma Vids onto my hard drive as soon as they go up. This was so sweet, I'd be sad not to have it any more.

coslopus said...

@Leviathan: I use either keep-tube.com or savevid.com. I rarely save Emma vids from YouTube. The makority if Enna vids that i save are from shows i recorded on my Tivo. i just transfer them right to my computer, take out the commercials and other unwanted bits and voila. Some that seem special that aren't on tv, like this, I always keep. I'm very happy I did. I sort of feel special in a way.

Anonymous said...

Yeah I might be "desperate" enough to watch it because Im a die hard emma fan but Im sure there are nicer people in the world who would mail it to me out of generosity rather than calling me "desperate".

Anonymous said...

That was for colsopus.

If somebody else has it I'd appreciate it if they can mail it to
" infinitedignity@hotmail.com "
Muchas Gracias.

coslopus said...

Whoa whoa whoa. I didn't mean any disrespect by calling anyone desperate. You took my word way out of context. I meant no harm by calling you guys desperate.

I used the word "desperate" as a way of saying someone really wants to watch the video. I didn't mean it any other way. You took this completely the wrong way. I meant no sarcasm, no anger. Maybe I should have used a different word. I use that word about myself all the time. "I'm desperate to watch this", "I'm desperate to do that". Calm down.

Anonymous said...

ok thats cool then .no hard feelings :)

coslopus said...

Eh, no problem at all. :)

Also, sorry about the long apology I sent to you in the email (I didn't know if you were going to see the apology in the comments section). I just don't want you or anyone else on here to think I'm an a-hole because I phrased my comment badly.

If anyone else wants the videos, just email me. The interview had to be in 3 parts because google has a 25MB limit. The video is around 37MB.

Anonymous said...

Why would it be so 'urgent' for them to keep the video private? It seems strange to go to such lengths just to hide a few minutes of footage. Very weird!
As always, thanks for the updates Eden :)

coslopus ,are you kidding me ? my respect graph for you just went high. Not everybody has the guts to clarify and apologize, atleast I dont come across many such people. You are awesome.Just saw mail.Thank you :D

THe double sided tape and modesty was because the tape sticks to her clothing and skin and not exposing her breasts.

It's really not very good at that. While the only time it led to "R-Rated" exposure was in the limo to the Finch & Partners Pre-Bafta party, there have been lots of premieres in which dresses are going where they want to, and there's exposed tape all over Emma, not having held the fabric at all. She needs to develop another strategy, whether it's pasties like at the LA "Perks" premiere, or no plunging garments, or developing a more Lily-Allen-like attitude toward exposure.

Where's the Emma news? My power has been out for 4 days because of Hurricane Sandy, and I expected to see a HUGE amount of Emma news.

I'm a little thankful there isn't. A lot at one time is too much to handle.

Sorry to hear that. I hope everything works out for you folks out there soon.

Thank you so much. I live on Long Island, and we got a lot of damage. I live more inland and didn't get flooding. The coast got completely damaged. It's absolutely horrible to see how many people in NJ, Connecticut and Long Island have lost their homes, possessions and lives.

They say that it could take weeks or months to rebuild or have any sort of normalcy again.

@coslopus Hope things get better for you real soon.Wish I could help.I have a family in NY myself, its very bad there..

Thanks. Things are really fine for me here. Our house didn't get damage, flooded, broken, etc... We just got a huge gust of wind about 75 MPH and the lights went out Monday night at 7:40PM and didn't go back on until Thursday 2:30PM. Oh, and our fence just broke a little in the back.

The biggest problem for people not living by the immediate coast is that gas stations are running out of gas (they said they'd get some later today), food stores don't have any food and many people still don't have power. My block has power, but about 300 houses right next to my block still don't have power. So, we're very lucky.

My family didn't leave because we didn't expect so much devastation around here. I wanted to go, they wanted to stay, so we stayed. We made a vow that next time there's a threat of a hurricane, we're going to either Cleveland or Chicago for a week.
