'Colonia' is currently being filmed in and around Munich, but yesterday, extras were picked up by a bus, not knowing where they would be going, from Munich Central Station to Kleinberghofen, a small town in the district of Dachau. They filmed at the Freudenhaus restaurant.
The reason the destination was kept secret was because Emma Watson, Daniel Brühl, and Mikael Nyqvist were also filming that day and the production didn't want photographers, journalists, and fans to find out.
One person though, succeeded to take a picture of the set (see above).
