Bill Paxton joins Emma Watson in James Ponsoldt’s 'The Circle'

Bill Paxton is in negotiations to join Tom Hanks, Emma Watson and John Boyega in James Ponsoldt’s upcoming feature adaptation of Dave Eggers’ novel “The Circle.”

Karen Gillan is also set to join the cast. Ponsoldt (“The Spectacular Now”) is directing from his own script.

The film is being produced by Hanks and Gary Goetzman for Playtone, Anthony Bregman for Likely Story and Ponsoldt. The film will be presented by Image Nation in association with Parkes MacDonald Productions.

IM Global is handling international sales while U.S. rights are being jointly repped by UTA Independent Film Group and CAA.

Eggers’ novel focuses on a young woman who is hired for a big job at an online monopoly called the Circle, which links users’ personal emails, social media, banking and purchasing with a universal operating system. The novel turns into a thriller about the perils of life in a digital age where privacy is obsolete.

Paxton was most recently seen in the History Channel mini-series “Texas Rising” and the BBC TV movie “The GameChangers” with Daniel Radcliffe. On the film side, he had a busy 2014 with “Million Dollar Arm,” “Edge of Tomorrow” and “Nightcrawler.”

I'm glad because I do like Bill Paxton, in fact the only one I am not sure about is Karen Gillan mainly because I've only seen her in Doctor Who where I thought she was mis-cast.

You could really do with a "Like" button on here Eden because I often pop by when I'm stuck for time and at least clicking on a like button would show you I've been by and like what you are doing. :)
