Emma Watson mourns Alan Rickman

The brilliant Alan Rickman, who played Severus Snape in the Harry Potter movies, died today of cancer.

I'm very sad to hear about Alan today. I feel so lucky to have worked and spent time with such a special man and actor. I'll really miss our conversations. RIP Alan. We love you

What Radcliffe wrote is mourning. What she did is just disgusting. I hate this woman now.

Good for you. As if her life was going to change because you said that, she is still a multimillionaire and you're still a nobody...

Even a multimillionaire can be a nobody and jerk if they lack character. Money is not what makes a person special or good. The most pathetic people in this world are those with loads of money.

Anonymous said...

She's using him to promote feminism. It's disgusting. As if being a multimillionaire makes her a better person. She's worked with that man for 10 years and tweeted that? She's coldhearted. What she did was wrong and no amount of "she's rich, famous and better than you" is gonna change that. I'd rethink defending her this way. She's did that with a man she's known since she was 9. And you think she'd ever care about you? LMFAO

Anonymous said...

It would have been more appropiate with a cast picture and j k rowling. I agree this is disgusting.

Anonymous said...

I don't know if you noticed but that tweet was a quote from him, which means he said those things... besides you don't know him and she did so stop acting as if you care more than everybody. You can get mad about it all you want it's not going to change her life...

Anonymous said...

Well guess what? You're not her. You don't get to decide what she can or can not post.

Anonymous said...

Wow yeah I guess you're right. She can be a heartless bitch all she wants. Nothing I can do about it. You're right mate.

Okay... so you're mad because Emma Watson wrote a post about the death of her co-worker... Apparently she didn't write it the way YOU wanted so you got pissed and decided to rent about it on a fan-website... why??

Unknown said...

You must be really unhappy with your life. I feel for you mate.

Anonymous said...

she getting quite the backlash on her twitter feed. excellent.

Anonymous said...

OMG! How she dare to quote him!!! Really? Meninists are insane

Anonymous said...

Yes, they are meninists, why someone whould be so mad because she's quoting him, you're talking as if her post was an offence to Alan Rickman, how could it be an offence for him his own words, people are just mad because of their extreme meninism, they are so blinded taht thei think quoting him is offensive.

Anonymous said...

I can't believe people are getting mad because she quoted a person she knew personally, WTF is happening with humanity. RIP Alan Rickman

Anonymous said...

she shared othe quotes too, why are so focused in that particular quote? how that is offensive to you?

Anonymous said...

she only shared other quotes an hour later when she realized she messed up

Anonymous said...

You haven't been there from the start. She ONLY shared other stuff and started retweeting stuff BECAUSE people were absolutely shitting on her for exploiting his death like that. Originally there was just that one tweet and when people told her how disgusting she was being she started tweeting other stuff to draw attention from it.

Anonymous said...

and how can you say she's using it for a particular agenda? do you know her personally? I think she is more sad than you about Rickman, she knew him PERSONALLY, I'm really sad for him too, he was a beloved actor, but i don't think i feel the same way as his co-stars, meninists as always so dramatic when it is about feminism and equality

Anonymous said...

you care more about how time it took for her to post another thing more than Alan Rickman's death? WTF is wrong with you

Anonymous said...

"feminism AND equality"

That quotes sums up why we'll never have true equality. You don't have to be a feminist to have true equality.

Anonymous said...

Other co stars of his made real heart felt posts about their experiences with this great man, what does she do? She pulls out a quote that is only about feminism, why? Because she is a face for UN Women to push feminism, and that's what she did. She didn't write some heart felt post, no no! She wrote two lines on facebook and used a quote of his SPECIFICALLY to draw attention to her propaganda of feminism. If you don't find this disgusting, you're beyond help. I never even heard of a word "meninists" before you started talking about it, but I can bet my ass that if someone VERY important died to these meninists , the first thing they would do wouldn't be to post one quote where this person supports meninists, this assuming of course that meninists aren't exploitative, disgusting and agenda pushing as little miss watson here is.
If you had any honest respect for this woman, this is the moment that respect should have died. But most likely you don't have respect for her, you don't even know what respect is, instead you have just blind admiration. That's why she can't say anything disgusting, do anything wrong. She is always right and great in your eyes. It's sad really...

Anonymous said...

Ok, that's what you think but why are you so focused about a post more than Rickman's death, that's why meninists are so bad, at the end of the day they are worse than feminazis, you could be remembering Alan Rickman's (if you are even a fan) by watching movies but instead you are here moaning because a tweet

Eden said...

When I saw there were lots of new comments I was excited thinking it would be nice things about Alan, annnnnnnnd nope. Only anger everywhere. Gonna go back to looking for pictures of smiling puppies.

Anonymous said...

Well, I think it's really superficial to look how many letters and lines has an statement to see the level of pain from a person, you don't know her personally, echa person lives the pain in a different way, when my aunt died my uncle didn't say anything and that doesn't mean he wasn't in pain, I just need to look him in the eyes to know, and if you think the amount o lines truly matter, let me say that what she wrote on facebook has more letter than the Alan's quote, you can't demand to her an entire book to believe in her pain

Anonymous said...

These trolls are trying so hard to put Emma in a bad pisition, i truly doubt they are even Alan Rickman fans

Anonymous said...

Eden we all mourn Alan but we always mourn Emma's morals.

Ah I feel down now. Going to look at some puppies as well but probably not the same type as you Eden ;D

Thanks for the memories Alan

ALWAYS.

Anonymous said...

yeah, she's exploiting his death by quoting him, let's make a storm

Anonymous said...

a quote that just so happens supports her agenda..... :/

Anonymous said...

it's so weird right?? forom hundreds of other possible quotes she picks one about her agenda!!! such a weird coincidence!!

Anonymous said...

I'm guessing if meninists hate Alan Rickman now that they know he was pro feminism, I don't know but people are just weird

Anonymous said...

As someone said on twitter "The people attacking Emma Watson for quoting Alan Rickman are exploiting his death by dishonoring his words

Anonymous said...

Because now is bad to remember a man by his own beliefs -.-

Anonymous said...

Emma = HE YOU FOR MEEEE

Anonymous said...

What?? Chill out, nobody in these is saying that, you believe she's opportunistic, i don't. I never said that she 's right because she's a woman, chill out.

Anonymous said...

An actress is sad because his former co-star has passed
Actress shares his quote that represents his OWN beliefs because she strongly believe in that too
People lose their minds

Anonymous said...

How do you know, maybe that issue was relevant for him

Eden said...

So no one is going to share good thoughts about Alan, huh?

At first I understood the anger, because Emma using a quote about feminism at this time made me feel uncomfortable, but 4 hours later? I'm starting to think that people couldn't care less about Alan and are loving all this, thinking they found a good reason for their hate of Emma and/or feminism. People are starting to sound like the haters back in 2003, repeating the same things over and over and over, desperately trying to prove Emma is the scum of the Earth.

Anonymous said...

OMG, you are the delusional one, I didn't say that, but happens that he beliefs in that, and Emma shared it, you don't like feminism? it' your problem not hers, and i doubt he called her slag, he was a great human being.

Anonymous said...

I want to share about Alan and how he and his amazing character was so cut short in HP especially in OOTP/HBP so we could have more of all the pointless lovely stuff zzzz

Anonymous said...

Eden I'm with you, that's why I think mysoginist are the worse, they could be remembering good things Alan Rickman did, instead they moaning because Emma Watson used a word that they don't like, Alan Rickman was a great human being, very committed with gender equality, THAT is a very good way to rememmber him, those people are the real scum of the earth

Anonymous said...

So unless a man isn't a feminist, he shouldn't be remembered? What if he never talked about gender equality, what would little miss watson say then huh? What if she couldn't exploit his death for her own gain, what would she say? God, do I hate you people... This was her when she got the news:

someone : "Emma! Alan Rickman is dead!!"
Emma: "How do I mourn this great man's death in a tactful and not exploitative matter? Oh I know!! I will use his death to push my own agenda!! That's totally ok!!"

That's the FIRST thing she thought about doing! Think about that, think about what kind of disgusting opportunistic person she must be in real life to do this and how little self awareness she needs to have to think this is an ok thing to do.

Anonymous said...

OMG, why are putting words other mouths, misogynist are the worse, as far as i know nobody has said a man shouldn't be remembered if he's not a feminist, if he wasn't she surely would choose a quote that represents the great human bein he was, But it happens he was a feminist, and she wanted to share that, it's not like she's going to remember him just for that, but he believe in the same thing and she wanted to share, it's not her problem if there are so many misogynists on twitter

Anonymous said...

So if he isn't a feminist he can't be a great human being? jesus christ are you delusional or what...

Anonymous said...

I didn't say that -.-, read better my comment. Delusional

Anonymous said...

That wasn't me you delusiona stan slag. You aren't talking with one person. Everyone thinks you're insane for supporting Emma on this.

Anonymous said...

you are not EVERYONE

I'm sorry but why are you so emotionally involved in this crusade against EW? It's been hours now and your still raving on about this. I really don't think anybody is taking you seriously when your insulting everybody left an right. And must you be soo vulgar? Are you 13 and just learnt to swear because it seems that way? Grow up.
On another note I highly doubt EW even has access to her twitter account. All these celebrity accounts are handled by PR people. And if she did it herself, than yeah it was tactless and thoughtless and I hope she learns from her mistake. Moving on and watching "Love, actually" Rip Alan Rickman :(

Anonymous said...

Haters don't think logically, they minds are rule by hate, that's why they put more energy hating someone rather than remember Alan. Sometimes i think they are more fans of her than me LOL and they secretely love her LOL

1. She knew Alan Rickman, I presume most of you don't.

2. See that name under the 'offending' feminist quote, oh it's ALAN RICKMAN.

She's paying tribute to somebody she knew, with a quote he said, and in the accompanying quote said she'll miss the interesting conversations they used to have. Presumably feminism was amongst them.

Why are you even here if all you're gonna do is diss? This is something *he* said. He would not want his former costar be dissed.

I like her original comment/the ones she posted with an FB link and again with an image. It made me really feel for her and I agree she shouldn't have posted about the quotes at the same time. But all this hate on twitter and here is purely unnecessary. Nothing but overreacting. Personally she like all who knew Alan personally, mourn him deeply in their own ways.
Peace. Waves at Eden* :)

^Exactly. You guys are making a mountain out of a molehill.

I like Radcliffe's comment about Alan. One can tell, that he thought about what he was going to say for awhile, and his words were well chosen and a true tribute to Alan Rickman.
With this HP picture, I see a self-presentation that is inappropriate. We do not have to see the trio in a tribute to him. I was also shocked at the twitter- insensitive and immature.

Just because you disagree Jonathan, doesn't mean that other people's opinions should be discredited. What she did was out of tact with what had happened. But I excuse her youth.

Oh dear, well Eden for what it's worth I am not writing to criticise, condemn or complain about Emma's post - I am here to say how much I am grieving over the death of one of our great actors. I loved Alan Rickman. He and I were born in the same year, only a month between us, and I bitterly regret that I never got to see a stage performance of his as we live out in the sticks and a theatre trip to London was usually outside of our budget. I liked all his films though and some were really quite comical. Only last week I watched him in "A Little Chaos" and I thought he didn't look well even then but I put it down to make-up or lack of.

He is a great loss and of all the deaths we have had so far this year his has affected me the most. I really feel for Rima and his family and friends.

Finally I might add that I would respect insulting posts a lot more if they had the guts to put them under their own names rather than as anonymous. It's one thing to write that you disagree with Emma and I accept your right to do so but to resort to calling someone disgusting names under the Anon. flag is rather pathetic.

The first thing Emma did was pay tribute to the great Alan Rickman on her facebook. After she posted HIS quotes. The hatred she received was obviously almost in its totality from misogynistis, meninistas, "don't make us hate him", this commentary says enough. The vast majority of people are defending Emma, just look at the best voted comments at daily fail, ONTD, moviepilot, telegaph, mirror and every single article mentioning it, including twitter, just look how many RTs and likes that quote has and how despite these trolls most people support it. Those haters are the ones who are being criticized by the media in each article about it. Basically according to most people and the press it's ridiculous to offend her for that. It's common sense after all.

Anonymous said...

Eden, could you please delete those haters comments? Emma do not deserves these critics. If you don't like someone, no need to insult him/her.
