I truly enjoyed this interview on the arts and the effect story-telling can have on the human consciousness. This interview also adresses the responsibility of story-telling in film and theater because of the effect on the psyche. Lin Manuel Miranda is a wonderful artist. This was a good intelligent interview in the understanding of the goals for HeforShe. Much better than this togetherness with Steinem. This interview had humor and goal. Thank you.

Excellent interview with depth of both Emma and Lin. Had great humour too. Love the beatbox from Emma. She's so adorable :-)

This man is so balanced. I love the way he describes the women in hils life. I like the way that he says that he never experienced the downgrading of women in growing up. (not exact words) He says that it was literature that was written by women that nourished his mind. I think the way you think woman has a lot to do with how you experience the relationships in family. Of utmost importance to support family.

Emma can almost have her own show on the Arts. I think that would be great. She is getting better and better in leading a conversation but allowing the interviewee a certain freedom.

As adorable as the Beatbox section is, my favorite part is just before that, after Lin-Manuel Miranda tells Emma that Dan Radcliffe sorted Hamilton into Ravenclaw. She's totally shocked at first, and then declares that she's going to call Dan and straighten it out! How hilarious is that?

What's the point Jonathan?

Eden, if you suffer from second-hand embarrassment, how can you follow Emma at all? :P Seriously though, it seems like she's increasingly making it (embarrassment, doing things 'out of character') part of her humor and public image. I do like it so far.

Funny that the trolls seem to have stayed away from this post. Maybe a little too high-brow for them? Nothing simple enough to latch onto for an easy, dumb reaction? Ah, who cares. Best not to count one's blessings.

It's because Emma seems to be finding her groove with this heforshe/interview stuff.

The better she gets at it, the less these is to criticise. I loved this interview. It was intelligent, funny, informative, etc... Great job, Emma!

I guess I was one of the trolls that criticized earlier, but I am also capable of praise. As I said earlier the interview with Lin was excellent, and I am the one suggesting the show for the Arts.
I do not think that anyone ever criticized her interview style but rather how she had gotten out of the groove of her concept for HeforShe- especially with Gloria Steinem. Lin is a balanced man who has put it into perspective very nicely.

Why should Eden suffer from second-hand empbarrassment.Eden gives us sources and we respond. I think its great that people are not blind and dumb and are not willing to accept everything from a celebrity even if it is the glorious Emma Watson. I am a die-hard Emma fan, but I will not follow a pink poodle.

Yes I agree, I like Emma, She is very intelligent person, I like her activism, She is so cute and has managed to bring her life on the good place, but this does not mean that I love her 100%, there will be things that I like less

"Why should Eden suffer from second-hand empbarrassment."
She said she does in a twitter post referencing this interview.

"think its great that people are not blind and dumb and are not willing to accept everything from a celebrity even if it is the glorious Emma Watson"
Absolutely, would even be true here - if only the common "disagreements" people have been having didn't entail being blind and dumb themselves.

"I do not think that anyone ever criticized her interview style but rather how she had gotten out of the groove of her concept for HeforShe- especially with Gloria Steinem."
People wrongly acted like just because she read Gloria's book and interviewed her, that means she completely agreed with everything Gloria has ever said and done. Obviously, that is not the case - and even if it for some reason wasn't clear to you then, hopefully it's clear to you now.

Like it or not, agree with everything Steinem has said or not (and I doubt I do either), she has been a major part of women's rights since the 60s, and is a living representative of the civil rights movement. It's plain to see why Emma would interview her. There's no issue here.

She seem's to be more relaxed and and happy, lately.
Fine to see!

Hello! I have not seen the interview of Emma with Gloria, Can someone tell me the differences between the interview with Gloria and Lin Manuel Miranda? which it has been better under your opinon, which you liked more ...
Thanks you!!!

I'd have to listen to both of them again. I was turned off by her meaning of erotica. My thought was when I heard the interview, where does human love come into importance with this woman. A few women and I sat around for coffee and cake and discussed Gloria Steinem. Well OK, non of us were impressed with her. But Lin's explaination of how he had experienced women in his life who had a lasting effect talked about the nature of woman and the good she has to offer this world.

I was embarrassed for Emma too with that website on masturbating women to get more pleasure. How low can you go?

Anonymous said...

Ah, there are the trolls.

Anonymous said...

I love trolls? They question stupidity that is ruinous.

Anonymous said...

Burp! You missed the point I think of the question.

Think you question point making it is?

Huh?
