On the contrary this is exactly the problem with this program.

You have, for example, young girls essentially in servitude in 3rd World countries earning a pittance making goods for the those in the developed World and yet the UN HeforShe program is apparently focusing, at least in this instance, on gender equality in academia.

Yet another costly talkfest where a bunch of middle class people can attend junkets dealing with minor issues affecting their lives whilst ignoring far far worse problems in areas outside their comfort zones.

As a point of fact I have been friended on Facebook by a lady working in Africa with Heforshe supporters to bring equality these people risk there freedom and worse. This work is going on all over the world not just the first.

Education is the key and educators the key to that. The report when it is made in September will have the facts from which we can form a cogent argument.

Anon I deleted the comments of, I deleted the first one because, yes, I didn't like it (even though I already forgot what it was saying), and because you were talking to Emma who obviously isn't here to read it. If you have anything to say to her, there's twitter.

Also, no comment insulting a religion or their believers is allowed here. I have a lot of opinions about this, but this is not the place to talk about it.

The Our Shared shelf (OSS) on goodreads is for adult conversations of this type. If you moderate the tone slightly Anon people will listen and comment on these serious matters it is a better forum for such discussion.
