This is going to be epic. The only danger is it turning into a documentary before it is released ;)

Eden, did you see the article and news on Fox news about Emma. Beauty and the Beast was a mega hit, and fox describes her as the most sought after actress.

Beauty and the Beast breaks all reacords. Is Emma watson the most sought after actress? the name of the article from fox entertainment.

Anonymous said...

she sought after she has nothing lined up after the circle lol

Beauty would have be as successful with many other actresses. Many love the 1991 film. Only Lion King is bigger.

Lisa said...

That's true, but still, Emma rocked it.

The other live action Disney remakes did not achieve the status BATB it has been widely acknowledged this was due to the different approach and ethical stance taken. It has also been noted that this approach was down to collaboration between producers, Director and Emma Watson. Well documented the input she had extending beyond her creation of Belle. For example the use of renewable and fair trade for all materials used in the making of the movie.

And of course as Lisa rightly said Emma rocked it :)

She was good in BaB, at spots a bit wooden, but I greatly enjoyed her acting. I read the article. I hope though that they seek actors because of talent and not because they bring in the big bucks.

How do you know? Ok, fair trade between Disney and Dior !

What's the news on the David Heyman and Emma Watson team up for The Queen of Tearling. Dead beat now and looking and Heymann's imdb, TQoT keeps moving down farther in projects in development.

"How do you know? Ok, fair trade between Disney and Dior !"

Yep hypocrisy as its finest which is why for the most part I never take anything Emma says seriously. After all most of it is via an autocue....

No updates as yet, but I really do hope they make the Tearling Trilogy. If Emma acts in the movies, great! But even without her, the books have so much potential that they could be converted to a TV show like GoT.

I would agree that BATB would of been successful regardless because it is a Disney movie and it was the first live action remake of the original. However, Emma was wonderful in it and the movie was very well done. I would of still been very curious to see Del Toro's version had he remained but ultimately the finished product came out fantastic.

As far as whether or not she is sought after we will only know when it starts to get reported that she is working on another film. We are not privy to what scripts she is currently looking at or going through at this point. Just because there hasnt been anything reported yet does not mean she is not in demand as an actress. People also have to remember that Emma is very selective in the roles she takes.

I am glad she is selective; I would hate to see her in a Zombie film or chased by chain-saw maniac. All her roles have been different: Regression was so different from Colonia. If you look at the list, from HP to Ballet Shoes, Despereaux, Marilyn to Bling, to Perks to Noah, (The End- she could have let that one out) to Regression, to Colonia, Beauty, to Cirlc, the roles have been mixed and have pushed her to grow, plus in between she got her drama degree.
I can not imagine her doing QoT other than as producer. Heyman is working on the Fantastic beasts and will be for awhile.
I also love what Rupert is doing: his role as producer for Snatch and the lead. He also looks for diversity. I think he is the slow in coming, but he will surprise us all soon. I think his fans would love to see him work with a seasoned director. The Box Office would pull from his presence. THe Trio is doing well, drug-free, no scandals, wonderful.

I actually enjoyed her Cameo in This is the End. I thought it was incredibly hilarious and she was quite funny.

I honestly think that Beauty and the Beast brought so much cash in because Emma has a recognizable face not because she's an excellent actress. She's okay but I wouldn't say that the movie is a hit couse of her smashing acting skills. She felt rather forced.Everyone who was raised on Disney movies would see the movie anyways.

The two other live action remakes did not do as well. This one did and Emma's input has been seen as key both behind the scenes and in front of the camera. Movie made over a billion that is a lot of people going to the pictures the world over.

Don't see anyone in the film industry doubting her credentials now. Also she put her money where her mouth is taking a portion of takings for less salary.

Let's not underestimate the effect if the movie had not worked, she talked Disney into changing the character of Belle leaving the story the same. The cost of using sustainable and fair trade alone prohibitable commitment.

All that and she had to learn to ride a horse and refine her voice.

Very brave and committed she leaves the impression these things are easier physically and emotionally than anyone how has taken a big risk in life knows they are.

To some extent you are right, because it is Disney its going to draw a lot of people to the theaters. But, ive seen the other movies im about to list and i cant say that any of the acting in them were that amazing either to be honest.

Ross-
" The two other live action remakes did not do as well."

I wouldnt quite go that far. While Cinderella and Maleficent didnt hit the billion mark they still did pretty good globally all things considered. And shockingly to me AIW grossed over a billion dollars as well which out of the other 3 ive seen didn not care for the most. Here is what the 4 films i have seen have made (BATB still not done yet).

Cinderella (2015)- $543,514,353
Maleficent (2014)- $758,539,785
Alice in Wonderland (2010)- $1,025,467,110
Beauty and the Beast (2017)- 1,002,405,115

Yeah, like I wrote above, she is recognizable that's why the movie is so popular and it's easy to see if you take a step back and look at it as a whole image.

I don't know why she brought up all the feminism into the picture tho. BatB is a great movie without it. It's like nowadays everyone wants to be a feminist.I,as a fan of Belle, did not asked to change the character of her because she is perfect already! she's sweet, smart and brave so all the talking about empowering her with feminism was unnecessary and left a bad taste in my mouth.

Yes,she had to learn to refine her voice and still she sounded like a robot through the whole movie everytime she started singing.Im not hating but it's hard not to notice that she's by far the worst singing princess in the history of Disney.

And what are you saying by "The two other live action remakes did not do as well"? I actually think the movies did very good and there is more than two. Im not a live action fan but I enjoyed it just as many other people.I don't see where the other movies failed and honestly just because the other didin't bring as much money as BatB it does not mean they are worse.

Brought feminism to the movie because she is a feminist and works hard for equality. Obviously no matter what she achieves won't be enough for some people knowing your own mind is never as appreciated in a woman as it is in a man.

Work like Emma's maybe can change that.

For the record never said the other live action movies were bad just Emma's was better. Remember these are ticket sales the public voting with there money powerful endorsement.

It's Emma's birthday tomorrow everyone say something nice, why not.

I know she's a feminist and I know it's important to her but bringing it up in almost every BatB interview over and over again made people think that she's using the movie's popularity to promote her own agenda.I can't really blame them because Disney is family friendly so why couldn't she keep it to herself? do you think kids will give a fig about feminism? they just want to see the funny, talking furniture and their favourite princess who lives happily ever after with her handsome prince lol.It all may sound like I hate feminism but I actually support it.It's good to see that celebrities like Emma are spreading word about womens rights and equality but I think that instead of braging about the feminist changes she made, she should've focused purely on promoting the movie. In the end it's a fairy tale and let's leave it as it is.

Where do you think children get there ideas about the world from Anon. We all feminist any activist actually "go on" as you put it because it is what we believe in and don't doubt the importance of getting the next generation to behave better toward each other than the last one.
Emma is a leader because she shows by example. We are all just trying to make the world better, Emma can make it happier at the same time all the better.

Its not Emma's fault that everyone that interviews her ask her basically the same questions. Its just how it works when you are an actor/actress/musician, etc.

Also, as an artist in her particular industry she isnt obligated to make movies or play roles that make everyone else happy. For anyone who has ever kept up with Emma they already know she will play and perform roles that mean something to her. She has said on record that Cinderella and its directors didnt want include any of her ideas for the character and she didnt want to portray the same old format for the character.

The director of BATB have her an opportunity for input and to add things with Belle that meant something to her as a person. Is Emma fortunate that she is at a place in her career that she can be picky and choosy about what roles she takes? Absolutely. The success of Potter has allowed her an opportunity to incorporate her own personal ideals as a woman into the types of films she works on.

I can be critical about some things with Emma but this isnt one of them. As a fan i can choose to either watch her movies/interviews or dont. No one is forcing me or anyone else to do that. I have been a fan long enough to know what she is about and what to expect when it comes to her career and personal goals. She is not obligated to make me happy, she is entitled to make herself happy and do the things in life and her career that brings her peace of mind.

Well said Anon. Fact since becoming an activist she gets lot of undue criticism does not help her opening up more.

I saw the film and it was great. emma's was good in parts but also wooden. She had trouble controling her voice. She would really benefit from voice training for films and acting lessons. If she had these, she would progress quickly with a new understanding of what she needs to perfect her trade. It seems though, she thinks she is great, but she is far from being an excellent actress. She is good, but so are many others.

Anonymous said...

I think it is great that she chooses roles that mean something to her, but please play the role well.

Eden said...

Thanks Anon for sharing your opinion after seeing the movie :)

I'm not sure she thinks she's great though. I think she just doesn't care much about acting.
