Why do they waste the money for premieres? The movie is a complete failure.

Anonymous said...

Maybe because they want to promote it so people go see it?

I shall go and see it because despite all the negativity I did enjoy Beauty and the Beast.

Who gives a shit the reason, its Emma at an event, more the better.

Thaïs said...

Comment ça ? Qu'est ce qu'ils avaient fait pour B&B ?

Eden said...

Complete failure? Why do people comment when they dont even bother to know anything

the film has grossed 27 million

Films like Enemy starring Jake gyllenhaal and directed by Villeneuve grossed 3.5 million

It grossed a good amount in Italy, Russia and Spain its going to probably gross another million in France.

Seriously people stop caring about audiences and critics wonder woman is comeplete crap and it like all capeshit is getting good reviews, the film isnt bad its decent at the least.

Anonmyous BATB was great and emma carried the circle she was very good.

I THINK THE EUROPEANS MIGHT SEE THIS FILM AS MEANINGUFL CRITICISM ABOUT SOCIAL MEDIA. I believe Americans see things more in the realm of fun and cosmetic make-up. They do not like anyone upsetting their social media. I think the film was a risk, but it spoke the truth about pitfalls. The film was somewhat confusing at the end. In my opinion emma played best with Boyega. He is a great actor. I would love to see more films with the both of them together. To bad emma does not have the role of Rey; of course Daisy Ridley is quite good.

I think the flop the peraon is referring to is this:
"The result is that The Circle finished fourth this week at the box office, with just $9.3 million from 3,163 theaters. As Box Office Mojo wrote, that was “light compared to expectations.” With a production budget of just $18 million, this doesn’t loom as a total catastrophe, but neither is it likely to stay long on the cultural radar.

Still, with that start, it will be a race to see if The Circle can match the Steve Jobs movie, which earned $17.8 million at the U.S. box office. And it has no chance of matching the king of the mini-Silicon Valley-hate genre, The Social Network, which nabbed about $97 million at the U.S. box office."
Also, it hasn't grossed 27 million. Kt has so far grossed 20 million and just covered the cost of making this movie.
I'm wondering what outfit she is going to wear. It really has been a hit or miss lately. I adored the dress she wore in Shanghai.
Also is there any news about upcoming projects? It's weird that she hasn't a lot of projects lined up after her succes in batb?

"Seriously people stop caring about audiences and critics.."

Well when you take out audiences and critics, there really isn't much left is there?

As for comparing The Circle with Enemy.
One film starred Tom Hanks and Emma Watson and screened in 3163 US theaters (and had a PG-13 rating),the other (rated R)starred Jake Gyllenhaal and screened in 120 US theaters.
Hardly a meaningful comparison.

Audiences barely went to The Circle, those that did gave it a terribly low exit rating and critics hammered the movie.

Emma has generally starred in 2 genres; family/fantasy blockbusters(HP/BATB) and 'indie' films (Colonia/Regression/The Circle).
Huge success in the first, essentially no box office impact in the second.

Even after her 'gap year',she appears to have nothing on the horizon.
Is she re-evaluating her career, her choices?
Next move(s) could be interesting.

It's not just a about the number. Go see on Rotten Tomatoes, the reviews are dreadful... That's why it's considered a failure, it's like a stain on their list of movies for Em and Tom.

Je n'avais pas vu, merci !
C'est peut être à cause des attentats qu'ils n'ont pas fait de tapis rouge ?

vous pensez qu'il y aura moyen de la rencontrer ?

Colonia was a very beautiful film though
people must be crazy to hate these movies

Maybe there are no new projects lined up for emma because she received bad reviews for her acting in bath and circle, poor girl feel bad for her. Maybe she wants to marry and retire from acting.

I liked Emma's acting better in Colonia after I saw it a second. My first reaction she was too much over the top with screeching and laughing. Usually these expressions along with crying are quite extreme.

Don't know where you red it but the bigger presses/critics only had good words for Emma as Belle. For example, Variety told Emma was a pitch perfect Belle and Empire said she was the perfect Belle. And these are few examples. Don't know very much about The Circle instead because I didn't search what critics said as much as I did for Beauty And The Beast but I found Emma was pretty good and she carried the whole movie.
