Emma Watson nominated for a Razzie, and an Empire award

Emma is nominated for Empire's Best Actress category alongside Gal Gadot, Daisy Ridley, Frances McDormand, and Tiffany Haddish. It's a poll so you can vote HERE until February 2. 'Beauty and the Beast' is also nominated for Best Soundtrack and Best Make-Up and Hairstyling. The ceremony will be on March 18.

Emma is also nominated for the Razzie's Worst Actress category alongside Katherine Heigl, Dakota Johnson, Jennifer Lawrence, and Tyler Perry. No voting here. The ceremony will be on March 3. Sandra Bullock did go when she won so who knows.

Next year she'll be nominated for nothing :(

She is technically still in time to film a movie and have it released in time for next award season. While unlikely, not impossible

she probably gets tons of offers still but it's highly likely she thinks about her capabilities for bigger better roles so no joy :/

I actually hope -- for her sake -- that she does win the Razzle. If she could give a funny/natural/self-deprecating speech (Halle Berry's was EPIC for Cat Woman), that would be helpful, since her reputation is that she's stiff / unnatural / too self-conscious.

I’m a big fan of hers, but being her fan has been frustrating for the last couple of years. She chooses really bad projects. I mean Regression and Colonia were critical and comercial failures. And those movies didn’t even get press, she almost entirely skip the promotion of those movies and that’s when an actor knows a movie is bad (Jennifer Lawrence in Serena for example). The period of time from Noah to Beauty was like she didn’t act at all in any movie. She had so much potential during the early post Harry Potter time, but she doesn’t take her career seriously. I mean, Margot Robbie is probably gonna get an Oscar nom tomorrow and she had her break in 2013! Margot’s been in Hollywood for very little time and she is one of the most in demand actresses right now! Right after Beauty, Emma had a lot of momentum, I mean, even JLaw with the hunger games couldn’t open a movie as big as Emma did with Beauty, I’m sure that a ton of offers came her way, but she didn’t take any, and then comes the circle (which was horrible, and as her fan I was angry that I paid to see that in the movie theater) and kills her momentum of beauty. If she doesn’t like the projects she’s been offered she should produce! Look at Margot Robbie! Or even Nicole Kidman with Big Little Lies! But if she doesn’t want to act anymore and has decided to become an activist full time, she should at least tell her fans who have been really supporting of hers. I went and saw all her movies post Harry Potter, perks, bling ring, Noah, all of them, but at this point I’m not even sure if I should still be her fan. It’s juts so frustrating. I hope this razzie nom wakes her up and decides to start making GOOD movies again. And I also hope she wins, I’m still mad that I paid to see that.

Halle Berry also won an Oscar. Same like Sandra Bullock. Its easier and funnier if someone with their status does that. It would hurt Emma to do that. She doesnt have the same succes to laugh about it.
Emma doesnt want to act. I dont think she never got any role after the huge hit Beauty. Its been almost three years since she has been on a movie set.

She's not willing to try to experiment as much as the other two and it shows.

She should quit acting & join politics instead.
Acting is not her cup of tea

i definitely agree that she hasn’t been very experimental. i wish she’d take a risk and choose something really interesting.

her politics is her acting. it is for all of them. they don't care about the little guy.

Razzie are not that serious, people. I only don’t understand Emma’s nomination since I thought her performance in The Circle was good -not her best- but she showed she really can carry a movie all by herself.. but then, they nominated Jennifer Lawrence for her brilliant performance in mother! so I only can laugh at Razzies. lol

They are nominated not for their performances but for the movies they were in. The Circle wasn’t received well by the critics and mother! was too divisive. Hell, even Javier Bardem is nominated and his performance was brilliant, so.

And, in the past, even big names like Angelina Jolie, Charlize Theron, Sandra Bullock, Susan Sarandon etc etc. were nominated for a Razzie so I really don’t care. I only hope Emma will choose a new project in the near future.

omg thank you. Every time I think about Emma it's like: she is a good actress but she can't choose scenarios.... (sry for my english)

I do not believe that she got the big offrs after Noah and even Beauty. If she had gotten a role with one of her prize actors, she would have taken it, but I do not believe tha tshe is seen as such a big talent. She is still in the money machine. Beauty was a lucky hit, which will carry her for awhile in reference to Harry Potter and the girl power of heromoine.. She should have spent serious time at RADA. All of the great actresses and actors have some kine of Film Degree. Meryl streep has her Masters in Drama from Yale, and her BA from Vassers. Anne Hatha has a degree in theatre from NYU. Why doe Emma think that she does not need such supports if much greater actors have been trained. I think ger thinking in that way is stuck-up. I think the role offers are dwindling fast. She doesn't want to take SAW IV kind of roles.

She said in an interview a while ago, that she has been offered superheroes roles (I guess Scarlett Witch, which is around her age and there aren’t many female superheroes) and have turned them down. Because she wants to do “small movies” well at lest she should choose good indie movies, she has chosen some really bad ones. And a franchise could help her. She doesn’t have a single acting gig this year, and the circle bombed so bad, even with zero competition and Tom Hanks couldn’t open number at number 1. If I were in charge of a studio why I would hire her? She couldn’t bring people into the theater with the circle, and I could argue that what made Beauty a hit wasn’t her, it was the Disney brand and the fact that the original is one of the most beloved animated films of all time, and she doesn’t bring prestige, she has a razzie nom now, I would much rather hire Saoirse Ronan (who has 3 Oscar noms) and let the brand make the money.

I vote for you, Emma. You did great. Love you. 🌹🌹🌹

You are all idiots if you think the oscars matter they don't. Emma was good in Noah, Colonia, Perks and really good in the Bling Ring. Her performance in the Circle was good even the razzie stuff is bs. Emma is a good actress she just does whatever she wants.

Dan and Rupert are experimenting with different kind of roles and are stretching their range. Rupert has two successful series; Snatch and Sicknote which are going into their second season. Snatch was picked up UK television. Rupert said in an interview that he wants to show directors that he can portray other kinds of characters with different ranges of emotions. Sicknote is so different from Snatch but both of them have gotten good reviews or they would not have been picked up for a second season. I would love to see Emma widen her range in this way. She wanted to make Belle feminist, which I thought was contrived. If the plot would have signaled that stronger, then events would have developed in that way. So she sat in a short scene on a street corner and showed a little girl her letters for not even a minute. She created a washing machine that worked while she could read. Both scenes so unrealistic that they were irritating without a plot attachment. Now if she would have had a village school for girls that was being counteracted upon and then the crisis with her father, that would have been interesting.

Why there are so many trolls/Emma haters here? Were do they come from ? They just type Emma Watson site or blog on Google and find a fansite in which they can spread their toxic view on her?

Yeah genius 😂

successful series?? Good reviews??? No one cares about these series lmao

Emma does roles based on where she is creatively and in accord with her active stance on environment and equality. She is intelligent and talented. Hollywood needs to make better use of its power women if it really wants to change.

I admit she was good in quite a few movies, but none of her performances were Oscar worthy. Oscars do matter. One may disagree about who should have gotten an Oscar, but all the films, actors are extraordinary in their own way.
Colonia was good, Bling Ring was alright, Noah was good, Beauty was good, but none of her performances were Oscar worthy performances. She is not even as good as Saoirse Ronan, who is younger, and up for an Oscar with Lady Bird..

Saoirse Ronan said to be the new young Meryl Streep. Great compliment.

I love this picture of Emma; she looks fresh, rosy and happy.
