For an MTV show Emma looked good, not sure she could wear that dress to a lot of other places though. She sort of had a funky native american styled skirt and I thought the top worked with it. Personally, I thought there were way too many women overdressing for this. Was I watching MTV or the Oscars? I think Ezra's outfit worked for his personality. I'm sure most of us thought it was ugly (and I'm kind of with you) but I don't think he really cares how he looks so long as he has fun with it, and sometimes that's more important.
Emma looked good. It wasn't my favorite outfit she's worn, but it wasn't ugly either. Ezra on the other hand looked like a cowboy from Hell or something.
Even though they had a small part in the show (introducing Green Day, one of my fave bands before they made American Idiot, btw). I like how Emma's getting more comfortable at award shows. That swinging motion she made with her arm/mic was hilarious.
Emma and Ezra meet in the lobby of the motel about an hour before the awards.
"You're wearing that!" They both say simultaneously while pointing fingers at each other.
It worked out OK, though. Ezra got his big Russell Brand hair in Emma's face a few times, but they both did good. At least Ezra wasn't wasted like after the MTV movie awards.
Perks is getting a lot of attention. I hope to God it doesn't bomb at the box office.
75% of critical reviews on Rotten Tomatoes are negative so far, sadly, including The Guardian one you mentioned, which subtly implies Emma wasn't anything more than passable in her role for Perks, calling it her baby steps, which is weird since she's been in the business for 12 years now and a reputable critical source from her home country could at least embellish a little bit for her. I expect even less from other reputable sources - although the Perks people did screenings for the younger, less professional and established 'critics' who really love the film. Thats the demographic, anyway, and I think Perks might make some good money from fans of the book and Potter fans as well, obviously. No critical dice yet :(
Rotten tomatoes has a total of 4 reviews as of this post, way too small of a sample size for me. A lot of reviews that I have found on google have liked the film and at worst thought it was just okay. It also really seems to be mixed on who the breakout star is with Emma, Ezra, and Logan which I think is good that all 3 kind of get a chance to shine.
Only 4 reviews, and the guardian liked Emma. Variety called her radiant. Hitfix thought the movie could be Oscar worthy and the reviews on ImDB are brilliant. Rotten tomatoes will be updated with other reviews soon. Some movie critics are glowing about the movie on their twitter account. More reviews will be up soon.
Those are only the preliminary reviews. On IMDB.com, the film got 3 critical reviews, 1 of them in German, 2 in English. The 2 English reviews said the move was absolutely amazing. Both reviews have stated that it was great to see Emma Watson in a role outside of Harry Potter. Both reviews said she nailed Sam in this movie, she was PHENOMINAL. They said that Perks proves that Emma isn't just a one-trick-pony that can only play 1 role. So, the movie might not be getting stellar reviews, but it seems that Emma is.
Like I said, they're just early reviews. I'd like to compare this movie to Water for Elephants (RPattz's first real serious role outside of Twilight). WFE's first reviews were BAD. Then, once more critics saw it and it came out in theaters, the movie got TONS of positive reviews and now it's up to like 62% on Rotten Tomatoes and is considered a hit. So, we'll just have to wait and see.
They seem way to close to each other she embraces Ezra more than she does her own boyfriend. And the vanity fair behind the scenes video she is on his lap and hes touching her knee.
It is still too early and too few reviews. I am sure that there will be more positive reviews. UK media eats their own. I would take anything said with a grain of salt. They seem to believe their UK stars should not be too successful; that would be a bad thing. ;)
Lot of the reviews online from variety, Hitfix, indie blog, collider etc aren't on Rotten Tomatoes yet and were a good reviews. I wouldn't pay any attention to RT until more reviews go up.

I'm really looking forward to the movie the MTV guy announced she was in, "The Perks of Being a Wallflyer!"
Did she make that before or after "The Perks of Being a Wallflower?"
Reviews of perks starting to come in, mostly very far, and liking Emma!! Even the Guardian liked her!
I like how the first video has turkish subtitles. We are a surprisingly big group of emma fans. Lol
I love her dress.

Emma will appear on ‘Late Night with Jimmy Fallon’ on Thursday, September 13, 2012; the same day as ‘Live with Kelly. :)
I learned this morning that the movie "The perks" will be called "Charlie's world" (Le Monde de Charlie) in french. That sucks ! xD

Variety really liked Emma! Boom!

I wouldn't worry about Emma's closeness to Ezra, he came out as gay to a magazine awhile ago... Not threat to her boyfriend there!
