Sounds like she has "lovely" parents. First they told her not to audition for Harry Potter and that she's probably never be famous, and now she reveals that they never told her she was beautiful. I guess it was their way of not raising her expectations too high, but still...

This is a beautiful photoshoot. My fave pic is of her from Glamour UK, squatting in the dress, looking off into the distance.

I doubt Emma was never told she didn't look nice or things like that, I took it to mean that her parents didn't go out of their way to shower her with open praise. The two seperate photoshoots I thought were both equally effective. The UK version was more classical and traditional while the US version was sexier and edgier, but Emma pops on both shoots.

She's spoken greatly about her parents before and has stated they've supported her. I think it was inappropriate of her to state a dig at her parents. If she didn't want to reveal the reasoning behind "not feeling beautiful" then don't reveal it. She kinda did the same with the bullying comments.

Also, honest q ppl: how can she be graduating on time when she's dropped out twice and has stated she's dropped out. Is there a magical 2 year undergraduate degree I'm missing out on? haha

Anyway, she looks very pretty here. Good to see the hair growing out.

@Claire Independent studies, not every credit is needed to be taken in the classroom. She mentions that Brown University offers many options to students in the article.

Emma wasn't a beautiful child, but a mere cute child. She grew into a beautiful young woman.

She looks glamourous.. Both shoots are beautiful but I prefer the UK magazine more than the US magazine.

Am I the only one that didn't take that comment as a dig at her parents? I took it as meaning that her parents and the people she grew up around didn't put that much emphasis on beauty. ie they didn't tell her she's beautiful because they don't see it as being the most important facet of her being.

Anyway, love the UK shoot. Much more than the US.

Also dropping out is different to deferring. After my first year and a bit I deferred for a semester and a half due to personal reasons. I then spent what felt like the rest of my life doing extra credits lol. So at the risk of sounding overly sensitive-again dropping out is not the same as deferring.

Claire- I was wondering the same thing about her schooling, but I think she kind of answered it here. She has probably taken a lot of independent study credits. You can tailor a lot of experiences to fit the requirements, so I bet that's what she's done. I have 2 bachelor's and a master's, and I took all the independent study credits I could! Still a ton of work, but a great way to fit school into a hectic life.

okay so first I'd like to say that I took the last 2 glamour uk photos :) (I think the owner of Watson Uncensored saw me putting them on twitter) and also I would just like to say I love Emma, but she is not perfect. One thing that really annoys me is how she is constantly in every interview saying how hard her life is simply because of being a celebrity and the paparazzi, I mean, is that so bad when you are a millionaire, have your dream job, and get more experiences at 22 than most people do in an an entire lifetime? some people have it a lot worse and I wish she would stop giving the poor mouth...

All celebrity complain about the paps. Imagine a camara at your window.

There are two sides to a coin Rae, celebrity is a glorified imprisionment of one's private life. All most people see is the pleasure but ignore the pain as if it doesn't exist to these people.

Because the good side of fame is obvious to everyone, she often gets asked to talk about the downside...
