But for the cause of mainstreaming feminism and enlightened attitudes to gender, she has achieved far more than anyone would have expected of a former child star. “I think it is right that women be involved, on my behalf, in the policies and the decisions that will affect my life,” the 25-year-old actor told the UN last year. “It is time that we all perceive gender on a spectrum, not as two opposing sets of ideals.”
