Any idea what designer she is wearing, Eden? Love her earrings. I found the forum discussion done quite orderly and interesting. Usually I zone out after a while but today I listened to it from start till end. Emma was very professional and calm.

Return of the Star Trek style, seen previously at the This Is The End premier. Perhaps the secret to Emma's immense success is her status as a time-traveler from the future??

Immense success?

Sorry, I forgot you have to hold all your words in check for all the peevish cranks who for some reason comment on this blog.

HeForShe is a great umanitarian effort.

I meant humanitarian! Sorry!

For what she is doing in DAVOS, she would do fine to get a graduate degree in International Law and Business to be able to truly participate in infor at such a forum.

I am Spanish, and my English is not very good, but what I can understand, Emma is a very intelligent and prepared girl, and I think it will do positive things in this area, I do not like much as actress, I think it lacks training, but this area of HeforShe ,she enjoys, she likes and I think she's doing very well.
adnd, I do not like her new hair :( sorry!! I think she was better before

I agree, she does need training in the craft of acting, but if she is going to continue this political agenda, an English degree does not suffice. Actually an English degree is not enough for the serious profession of acting either. One learns to analyse and write about great literary works, but one does not learn the art of serious acting with all its methods and techniques.

One does not need an acting- or theater-related degree from a university act well; certainly not all of the greats do. Having studied literature can potentially give one insights into society and the human condition that can be of great benefit to acting.

That is not to say I think Emma is one of the greatest actors ever at 25, or that she will ever necessarily turn out to be one. I think that's absolutely fine. It's always good to seek to improve one's craft, but this media and celebrity-obsessed, Top10s pov that has become so prevalent is absurd.

Most of the great women actresses of our time have studied acting in some capacity. Meryl Streep got her Masters in Drama from Yale University. Ann Hathaway studied at NYU and Dakota Fanning is studying acting related women studies.
You are right though, there are natural talents, that just have the ability to slip into roles. Not everyone is a Leo Dicaprio or Johnny Depp. All the great Shakespearian actors are trained. I believe Emma learned a lot over the years, but she is not yet into fine tuning her skills.

Just to add, if she wants to seriously be an actress, I believe she should be interested in sharpening her acting skills. I agree that a literature degree gives one insight into society and the human condition, but the question is it enough to transform on screen or stage. I like Emma a lot, and I think she has achieved much since HP. But look at Saoirse Ronan, has not yet studied acting, but she is already considered to be one of the best and she is only 21. She truly has talent, and has heightened her ability with every film. I do not see this continuous progression in Emma. I do not think she is as talented as Saoirse Ronan or a Jennifer Lawrence. I think Jennifer L. act out of the cut, has a feel for different types of emotions. Emma needs to sharpen this emotional intelligence to transform.
Believe me, I am really a fan.

Eden, do you think Emma will attend the Academy Awards like during the promotion of Noah?

Sigh! When does Queen of Tearling start filming. There is such a hype for Book 3 now. I read book 1 and 2- excellent. The author likes cliffhanging in the books, but some of the cliffhangers to book 2 were released and just sharpened the plot more. This would be a wonderful, intelligent role for Emma.
