๐ŸŒธ Words cannot express how excited I was to interview @renieddolodge ๐Ÿ’ž a London based feminist activist, podcaster, award-winning journalist and author of ‘Why I’m No Longer Talking to White People About Race,’ the Jan/Feb @oursharedshelf book pick. ••• ๐ŸŒฑ๐ŸŒท Reni’s research and candour opened my eyes to how deeply-engrained structural racism is in UK society. Her work enlightened and motivated me to begin a journey of acknowledging the history of racism in Britain. Thank you, Reni, for thoughtfully answering the questions from #OurSharedShelf members and myself. ••• ๐ŸŽฅ๐ŸŽž Full interview out ๐Ÿ”œ! #blackhistorymonth

"...motivated me to begin a journey of acknowledging the history of racism in Britain."

Honestly that could almost be a quote from a parody account.

Gosh, apparently racism occurred/occurs in Britain and Emma is jolly upset about and is going to tell people racism is wrong.

For a supposedly intelligent individual she constantly offers views that appear naive/unworldly.

I think she tries to be innocuous in writing that kind of way ;-)
She surely does not try to offend anybody.
Probably she also thinks about her young followers while posting such things.
Probably if her words are too demanding and sophisticated half her followers would not be triggered anymore to follow and read things...

every little thing is a good enough reason to criticize her isn't it? She sure is 10x times more intelligent than you. And don't get me started on the successful part

She needed to read that book to know that?

Sometimes we need to have our attention caught to see things in another. It’s easy to realize there’s a problem without REALLY knowing exactly how it affects people’s lives on the daily basis.
Of course we know racism exists. But how many people knew those numbers and examples before reading the book? I knew racism happened in UK (just like it happens EVERYWHERE), but I surely learned new things with the book and that gave me even more energy to do things about. Even if it’s to shut people’s mouth when they tell “innocent racist ‘jokes’ ”.
Sometimes we live in a bubble and we don’t realize and even though we fight to break the ones we know are there. And sometimes we need a book, for example, to break that bubble

^ She is just ANOTHER privileged white woman preaching to the crowd from one of her ivory towers. Hence my Zzzzzzz earlier.

10 times? She used her celebrity to get into a second rate University to study a pretty middle of the road degree.

As for success? It was by chance. She was picked for a role which would have made literally any other woman as successful. If not her privileged background would have been a nice backup.

Your so delusional. Oh and before you start I like Emma. I just don't blindly worshiper like she's cured cancer or something.

Why the fuck this place is filled with haters?

Everyone who is not a blind worshiper is a hater now then? FML....

Lmao @she used her celeb status..last I checked she got Straight As and it wasnt her who bragged about it, he cast members praised her for that that regardless how tough their schedule was, she still managed to get Straight As, so unless the Cambridges GCSE system is handing out grades unfairly and is taking bribe, I dont see how thats her fault. Also a second rate university? Which uni do u go to? She went to Brown, an ivy league, last I checked its one of the top 10 countries in USA heck even the world, also she didnt just pay a donation to Harvard / Princeton and scoot there like some rich preppy kids, she got there on merit. I'd love to see u to have busy ass schedule as her and still manage to go to a "second rate university" Very easy to say stuff about someones hardwork and criticize them. You dont even have to be a fan to see she worked her ass off. There are literally pics of her on net where her eyes are swollen from studying and sleeping in between sets.

The amount of defending of someone like she is your friend. Talk about obsession. Sad.

Find a real role model in your real life before it's not too late.

Typical response when EW "criticizers" are hit with facts :)

The comments are indeed often filled with 'haters', to put it kindly. I have plenty of things I don't agree with or even like wrt Emma; the difference is where one finds the drive to incessantly whinge about it. To each their own though. At least the fans are devoting themselves to something positive.

Sundas said...

Yeah exactly. There might be things I dont like about kardashians but hey I dont go to their sites and waste my time there by "criticising" them and calim I am not a "hater".

Anonymous said...

lol anyone who criticizes her is automatically a hater.

those stans with multiple accounts make me lol so hard

Anonymous said...

Yep. Never leave their homes. Shame Emma doesn't know that.
