The Chilean coup of 1973. The masses are out on the streets, protesting against General Pinochet. Amongst them are DANIEL, a German student, and his girlfriend, LENA, a Lufthansa stewardess, who just arrives in Santiago the day before. The young couple are arrested and taken to the national stadium like thousands of protesters. There the nightmare unfolds. People are shot on the spot, others are abducted. Lena witnesses Daniel being thrown into a van and disappearing.
