Ellar Coltrane, who starred in last year’s Oscar-winning drama Boyhood, has joined Tom Hanks and Emma Watson in The Circle, James Ponsoldt’s adaptation of the Dave Eggers novel.
In his first movie since Boyhood, Coltrane will play Watson’s ex-boyfriend (Mercer), who tries to go off the grid and under the radar of the Circle’s technology.

Mercer is a good role; they can't all be as goofy as in the cirlce.
Yeah, I just wish the author would have made him a bit more attractive. its like all the internet geeks are cool and beautiful and the normal ones are ugly and sweaty looking.
