Happy Anniversary to me!

It's my 10 year anniversary!!!... tomorrow (is this the sound of retirement coming that I'm hearing?). I prepared something for tomorrow so I'm creating this article now to let you know. Skip to the end of the article if you want to know what it is. Get your hopes down though.

On July 22, 2008, I created my very first blog. I was in a bad place, I needed something to distract me from reality and here it was. And you'll never guess what it was about... Emma Watson! I know, what a shock. Why her? I don't know. Because I loved Harry Potter? Because she was the main actress? It was 10 years ago, who knows?

I started on a French platform called Skyrock. Or was it Skyblog? Or was it Skyrock but I kept calling it Skyblog? Can't remember. Doesn't matter. It was called Emma-C-Watson (here's a link but I completely emptied it since then) and here's what the introduction article looked like:

This is sooo cringe-worthy and I wish I could say my editing skills had improved but I had to share it. (did I though? Really embarassing but quite funny).

My blog was only in French as I thought my English was not good enough and I also thought there were not enough neutral French sites/blogs about Emma. You have to remember that at that time you basically had to pick between being a stan or a hater, no in-between.

Then, on February 22, 2009, I learnt that the boss of that platform was arrested for being a f*cking perverted pig to a teenager and decided to quit it and move to Canalblog. That's when Watsonuncensored was born and the blog is still up. I have to say that my pure, innocent young self had no idea that "uncensored" was something generally used by porn sites. I only wanted people to know I would post anything that had to do with Emma including private stuff (thank goodness I know better now).

Then, on November 14, 2009, I got bored and decided to move to here! I was working on my blog way too long, I took several breaks, until I completely burnt myself out and decided on February 17, 2013 to simply quit it. But that didn't last too long because I still had my Emma Watson tumblr account (that I still use) that I started to use a few weeks later as my new platform to share infos. I didn't work on it as much though and it last about a year and a half until I came back to Blogger and here we are.

The reason I'm sharing all these unnecessary infos is both because I've been asked several times how it all started but also for me to have a trace of my blogging journey. I thought today was the perfect day to talk about it.

Now! What did I prepare to celebrate? Well, as I said , my editing skills are close to none and I don't have any contact with anyone who could give me exclusive infos about Emma unfortunately but I do have 10 years of searches behind me and decided to post 10 pictures of Emma tomorrow that I had never posted before. It's nothing exciting or recent and there are probably pictures that some (all?) of you will have seen already but I'll try to find some that I have rarely if ever seen in the fandom.

And if some of you wonder why I didn't post them before, well, it's getting very hard to find the motivation to post what you find when it took you hours, sometimes days, to find it, knowing it'll take only a few seconds for someone else to repost it on social media without giving their source (yes, I'll forever be bitter about this). So I'm making an effort here, you're welcome.

Hope you'll enjoy and thank you for continuing to visit this blog, even after all the annoying platform changes. I wonder if some of you have visited the blog since the very beginning. I highly doubt it, but let me know if you remember emma-c-watson.

Also, any negative comments or questions that could start some shit on this article will be deleted. It's an anniversary article so only positive thoughts are allowed.

I congratulate you, Eden, and thank you for your service to our fandom. I don't go back to the very beginning with you, but I've been here for years, and will always be grateful for your clear-eyed coverage of Emma.

Thanks, Jonathan :)

"Would you consider having more peoole join this site with you?"

I wish I could but I'm way too much of a control freak to be able to.

Ha! I know the feeling. I'm not part of this fandom, but it happens in every fandom, sadly.

Happy anniversary to you, Eden! You're the only Emma page I check regularly. Congrats on your hard work, and thank you.

Happy Anniversary! Know that your efforts are very much appreciated, especially by me (and some of us HAHA) who is too lazy to search for Emma Watson news and just refers to your blog for some. Massive thank you to you, and more power!

Happy Anniversaryyyy! I hope you enjoy what you're doing and thank you so much! It would be hard without your blog for us but please never hide information or even rumours from us! I'm sorry for others not giving you a credit. Oh and also please respond to my questions sometimes :) you should do a q&a some day!

Wishing you a very Happy Anniversary Eden. I haven't been with you since the very beginning but I have been here many years and whilst I don't drop in as frequently these days I still try to call in at least once a week. Plus with Emma not really doing much in the way of films and not being a die-hard feminist myself perhaps I don't find her quite so interesting these days but I still like to know what she is doing and I wish her well.

So thank you for all your hard work, because it IS hard work and I think your editorial skills are fine, believe me they are.

Here's to the next 10 years.

Ugh, I know that feelings, Eden. Instagram is the worst when it comes to reposting without sources and sometimes, they can't even bother to add the correct information to the photo. I run a few of my own fandom blogs and see not only rare pics being taken and reposted, but actual Tumblr edits that I worked incredibly hard on. They even have the nerve to crop off my blog tags sometimes (which aren't super large that it would ruin the picture but not super small to where you can't see it) and place their own directly in the middle. It's super annoying. Even worse when they think you won't see their reposts. Yes, I have a Facebook and Instagram, too. (And a Twitter, but I barely go on there.) And when I politely tell them that the pic came from my blog and that I don't mind them resharing, kindly asking them to credit my blog, they usually never respond. Or remove my request, which is worse. People are just so inconsiderate. :( Something of this scenario actually happened recently. I spent hours on Flickr grabbing some HQ event photos of someone, made an edit and posted it to Tumblr with a link back to the photographer's photostream (because as a photographer myself, we work very hard with little to no credit a lot of the time) only to have this Instagram repost the pics, saying she found them. It was from an Instagram I followed too since sometimes, she's able to find photos that I miss. She didn't even bother mentioning the photographer. I like her blog, but I couldn't understand what she did since in the past, if I reshared rare pics she found, I always gave her credit. I don't know anymore... I'll stop ranting. Thank you for all you do, Eden.

Happy happy anniversary!!!!! :) I do remember the emma-c-watson site!!! I loved this from the very beginning because you always seemed like a really honest person without totally loving or hating Emma. It was like a breath of fresh air and it's still is! Thank you for all your work for us! :)

Happy anniversary Eden!
Thanks a million for your hard work and all your efforts to make this site as complete as possible.
BTW: do you know that I'm not able to access your page while I'm using some public hotspots: I think it's due to the word "uncensored" in the name of your blog :-D
It's such a small anecdote from my side ;-)
Thanks again, AnnA

Congrats! Most of the new pics I haven't seen and I feel like I tend to keep pretty up-to-date, though this is the only actual Watson blog that I follow. I almost never post, but I'd like to say thank you VERY much for your continued updates!

Happy anniversary Eden. :-) Sad to read you've been in a bad place those days.
Sorry I'm really late ;-P
I wish for you you can once have a cup of tea or hot chocolate with Emma herself ;-)
