Emma Watson and Chord Overstreet in Acton, Massachusetts [September 19, 2018]

Emma didn't have her ID on her so they refused to sell her alcohol. Thanks to Amanda and Britt.

There is a weird mentality today, about celebrities in general, where some people claim their relationships are just fake and PR. Where does that come from?

Because the so called church of celebrity has always been pretty much fake. Some people are genuine but very few are. Fame and money can easily corrupt.

They don't call it Hollywierd for nothing.

Its not a fake relationship. Chord is an eyeroll worthy fratbro. If Emma was doing a fake relationship it would be with someone that helps her image. Like James Norton from her next movie. I still think the pictures after the Oscars and the ones where they kiss were staged. That doesnt mean its not real. You can court attention without faking the relationship. I still wonder what she sees in him besides looks.

I think that she is not that intelligent he would like to present herself to others. Graduated from an Ivy League university... It doesn't mean anything. If you watch the interviews she led with really smart people, you see that her questions are quite nice prepared, but she is not able to interact with her interlocutors at the same level. Only: "oooohhh, aaaahhh, gosh, it's great, wonderful, it hit me the most..."...etc.
I think she's a dull girl. She wants to do a lot but she doesn't have enough talent neither for directing, nor for acting (this one for sure).
A white, rich, coddled girl raised in a bubble.
At the same time I think she's one of the most beautiful woman I've ever seen. But that what attracts me in her is her look only. Still good though :-)

In a parallel universe does Patti Smith walk into a liquor store wearing an Emma Watson top?

Back in this universe, the guy probably had ID but the cashier was all like "Chord Overstreet, ya as if that is even a name".

Why EW isn't an icon?

As a guy who lives maybe ten miles from where this happened:

Under Massachusetts law -- and that of most or all states in the US -- a store or retail clerk that sells alcohol or tobacco products without seeing proper identification -- state-issued ID such as a Driver's License -- can be prosecuted, and often is. Stores have been shut down, and salespeople (and their managers) put in jail. It's serious stuff. It's not the least bit surprising that the clerk would not sell them liquor without seeing proper ID.

Yeah, I'm not surprised she wasn't allowed to buy alcohol. Even though she's famous and could probably prove her identity easily, there are laws.

"Because the so called church of celebrity has always been pretty much fake. Some people are genuine but very few are. Fame and money can easily corrupt.

Still, I wonder why it's the go-to response from fans/the public nowadays. You can see it when people don't like a relationship, they simply go: "It's fake, it's PR." Or when they ship two co-stars together, but both happen to be married/in a relationship with other people. Many jump on the "it's PR to hide their love" bandwagon. It baffles me.

Well in Emma's case a lot of the stuff she has said in the past has been called out. Her career has gone silent in recent times and now she has a boyfriend like this and not forgetting those pictures did look staged, especially considering she like to keep things private. It's all very weird.

Because even though these relationships aren't always fake, it does happen:

I wonder what they even talk about.

“I wonder what they even talk about.”

Store Employee:
- ID, please.
They look at each other waiting for the other one to present the ID...
One of them, confused:
- I don’t have it...
The other replies:
- Me neither... didn’t even bring my wallet...
The other says:
- How were we planning to pay for the booze?
- I don’t know...
They look at the store employee and say:
- Never mind! Thanks for your help.

They walk to the car and do “Rock, Paper, Scissor” to see who will drive without license and risk getting pulled over...

THE END
